The Good Space is designed to give you space to focus, be creative, be productive, and hang with some great people doing the same. We’re here to help, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can do something that adds to that -and we are not already!

  • Printing is available for fair and reasonable use.

    Click below for instructions on how to install the printer:

    The printer name is RICOH-IM-C2000. It should show up on the local network.

    If you want to do bulk printing of collateral of suchlike, please give us a heads up, and we’ll invoice you:

    • 5c for A4, B&W

    • 15c for A4, colour

    If it’s for everyday use, in the course of your work, just go for gold.

    The first time you log in and create an account, you will need to do this from a special link that will be provided to you as you are onboarding. Reach out if you are having problems.

  • The Front Meeting room accommodates 4 people comfortably, and has a TV you can cast to, and drawing board.

    The Back Meeting room accommodates 6 people comfortably.

  • We’re a workspace, not a library. It’s ok to talk at your desk, and to take short and lightweight meetings at it.

    If you have a lengthy meeting, or you are presenting or leading the meeting, please book a room so that you don’t distract others for long periods.

    • The meeting rooms are available for all permanent members and hot deskers, and time slots are all booked through our booking portal.

    • Please be reasonable with the volume of bookings you make - they are for all tenants to share.

    • Bookings take precedence, but if the rooms are free you are welcome to slide on in to take a call or spontaneous meet up. Please vacate rooms if a previously booked meeting is due to start.

    • Leave the rooms as you would want to enter them with guests. Remove rubbish and replace the chairs neatly.

  • Music is played in the office via the SONOS app.

    From the app, and close by one or other speakers (front and back room) ‘connect to an existing system’. This should find the SONOS network that has been set up.

    From here, you can choose to connect your music source, or we have an Apple Music account hooked up that you are welcome to utilise.

    Please be considerate. People are working so anything that makes that hard for them isn’t cool. You’re all adults - you’ll work it out!

  • There are plenty of goodies in the kitchen - please help yourself to vogels for toast, condiments, Websters tea, coffee & Whittakers chocolate - if it hasn’t been gobbled up already! Chocolate is in the top of the fridge for everyone to indulge in. 

    Most members bring lunch and personal food as well, so if you are unsure if it’s communal, just ask!

    There are water jugs + glasses if needed for a meeting and you will find glasses, mugs, plates, bowls and cutlery in the draws.

    Feel free to have lunch on the leaners or out back on our deck!

  • Rubbish

    Three bins are located in the kitchen.

    • GENERAL WASTE - Food and anything non-recyclable.

    • RECYCLING - Plastic bottles/containers, paper, cardboard, Not everything plastic can be recycled i.e. chippie packets etc. Not glass.

    • COMPOST BIN This goes to the worms. They like most plants, but nothing acidic (tomatoes, onions, or feijoas) and no bread.

  • Perms are welcome to have mail delivered to The Good Space, and all members can dispatch from here.

    Include in the delivery instructions “ATTN ‘your name’ The Good Space.

  • Hot desking hours are Mon-Fri 8.30am - 5pm. If your plan doesn’t include 24/7 access, you will need to leave by 5pm, or when the last permanent member leaves.

    All the exterior doors will automatically lock outside of these times, and a fob will be needed for access. Once open, the door will stay open during these times. If you arrive early and no one has been in before you to open the door it will be locked. Knock! And try the back door (which is usually open first) before you call me!

    You may also need a key to the front (street) door, but the rear sliders remain unlocked.

    If you are the last person to leave, ensure the following:

    • close the windows

    • turn off the lights and air con

    • lock the front door (from inside if you don’t have a key - then leave via the back door)

    • arm the alarm as you leave. You will have been inducted and shown how to do this. If you don’t have a code or don’t know how, call Nada on 021 731274 and I can do this remotely.

  • In the front room, Nada and Tomek Piatek will be completing their certificaton as advanced first aiders in May 2025.

  • Friday Initiaitve Limited, trading as The Good Space, is committed to providing a safe workspace for all staff, members and visitors.

  • Fire alarms and fire extinguishers are wall mounted, and located inside the internal front door, and inside the internal back door. They are tested regularly.

    If you discover a fire, don’t panic, sound the alarm, and follow the Fire Evaculation plan.

    The Fire Evacuation Plan is also below, and is on the wall next to each fire extinguisher. 

    Fire wardens are designated in each room.  If a fire alarm sounds, the front warden is responsible for checking that the front office, stairwell, kitchen, front meeting room and bathroom are clear. The back warden is responsible for checking that the back office, Zoomy zoom (server) room, and rear meeting rooms are vacant.

    Muster points are in The Good Space carpark at the rear of the building, or the corner of Maunganui Road and Prince Ave.

    *The fire evaculation plan is somewhat out of date and is currently being reviewed, however the site footprint has not been changed and the muster areas will stay the same.
